Chapter 773: News-1
Suddenly, the unknown women smacked Delphina from behind because she kept glancing at the little girl. It was evident the other party was scared to face her.
" Stop it! Are you trying to scare away our guest?" She added.
"What? I didn't do anything. I just find it unusual that he took someone to experience life. Have you ever heard such a thing?" Delphina was genuinely curious about Nicole. There was no maliciousness in her eye, just curiosity.
" She has been with me since childhood. You could say that we grew up together so she could be considered by half wife." Samuel said with a smirk. Nicole was dumbfounded when she heard it but she immediately pinched his back to secretly protest.
" What?"
" I am just joking. She is my little maid. I hope you don't mind me bringing her together on this trip." He laughed out loud seeing expected reactions. If he wasn't under the promise of not exposing Nicole, he would confidently introduced her as his girlfriend!
" It's alright. I never knew that maid custom still existed in Rothschild family."
" It's a long standing tradition beside, it's good to take care of our own people since we have them to credit for managing most of the things around the house. There are many people who are second or even third generation living on the Estate." He gave a simple explanation. It's not like the family was forcing them, the benefits were just too good for them to refuse.
Delphina may came from a wealthy family but they didn't have rich history like those old giants. Such customs were common in upper aristocratic society, it's just it was not easy to meet them. Even if one did, they wouldn't necessarily be invited back to their family mansion.
" Suddenly, I am really interested what your home look like. I have been hearing praises from Maia and Paige."
" You are always invited. Who would dare to refuse such a request from a beautiful girl?" He said with a smile. Instead of blushing, Delphina only gave him a faint smile.
" This guy really can talk!" She thought.
" Well, I always welcome compliments from a handsome gentleman." She said politely. Samuel didn't came too strong so she matched his energy. Complimenting each other was basic etiquette to put other party at ease.
" Hmm.." while they were smiling at each other, they heard a clear sound which disrupted the atmosphere.
" Why don't you get a room already? I didn't know that I came here to watch two people flirting!" The unknown woman exclaimed. It's like they completely forgot about her!
" Sorry, let me introduce you. This is Viscountess Sharon, the owner of this salon." She quickly introduced her friend. Samuel was surprised to learn this so he immediately adjusted his posture and gave a beautiful greeting.
" Ah, young excellency. It's nice to meet you." He kissed her cheek according to noble courtesy, his motions were cordial like he had done this thousands of times.
" Good, I never thought this girl could meet a sensible person. Just call me Sharon." She smiled and accepted his greeting. Although, she wasn't a top notch beauty, her eyes were very attractive along with her noble temperament. Samuel didn't care much about it.
He had put nobles in the dirt before like the Earl who tried to mess with Adele, but he showed respect because Delphina seemed close to Sharon.
Viscount title was nothing much in his eyes but he had always been someone who was kind to his friends. He didn't like to put unnecessary air around people which was why everyone like him.
" As you wish, Sharon. You can also refer to me by my first name Samuel or Sami." his generous attitude left a good impression in front of Sharon. She was a little hesitant about this meeting when she heard it was heir of the Rothschild family that Delphina depended upon. But after meeting him, she felt her worries disappear.
" Just a take a seat. We can slowly discuss the current situation." She beckoned them because she didn't have much time. They sat opposite to one another with Nicole taking seat beside Samuel. She didn't know anything so she kept quiet listening and looking around the lavish private room.
" Well, what would you like to drink?"
" Nothing heavy. I still need to sleep at night. It's up to you." It was getting late. If he drank coffee there was no telling when he would fall asleep.
" Okay, I will ask someone to make some mild tea."
" Young master, I can help." Nicole added.
" Just leave it to them. You are a guest not a maid." Sharon interjected before Samuel when she saw her get up.
" Do as she says. Don't feel bad about it. There will me more chances for you to serve me in the future." He whispered in her ear instantly making her blush from head to neck.
" I can see that you like to tease people." Sharon laughed seeing this blissful exchange. She could tell Samuel liked to play pranks and joke around with people. She actually like such unrestrained individuals!
" Coffee for me. I can't help it. I have been too busy recently. To be honest, I haven't had time to rest for a week now so I rely on this stuff to stay awake." Delphina on the other hand wasn't in good mood. She complained and muttered her grievances with a sigh.
" It's not good to throw your life away in work. Rest in important how else would we be able to work without it?" He objected. His words were a little harsh but it was for her own benefit.
Samuel didn't hide his lecturing tone in front of Sharon. He basically guessed that they must knew each other for a long time with how comfortable Delphina was sitting next to her, like a trusting friend.
" Sami, in the past few weeks. Many various branches are very unstable, even the stock price is showing signs of heavy transaction. Is it your doing?" She asked as soon as waiter delivered him a lemonade.
" Yes, I didn't know about it but when I called my subordinate they already knew about another party in the mix and had began to take action. When I informed them today, they sped up the process."
" It must be my brother. He also started his own series of acquisitions." She gritted her teeth when speaking about her brother. Their relationship had long been torn apart too damaged to even repair. He could see the contempt in her eye so he didn't mention anything.
He was a business partner not a family counselor. Normally, he would try to persuade her because in his eye family was the most important thing but judging from her atmosphere, there was no chance of reconciliation, it's either him or her!
