Chapter 320: Perfect Opportunity
[ Urgent Request from Lord Kang Zhen:
The Neutral Shelter is in dire need of strong healing medicines. We require the expertise of an alchemist capable of producing Recovery Pills or equivalent healing potions. Those who can resolve the issue of our lack of medical supplies will be personally rewarded by the Shelter's Lord, Kang Zhen. ]
Satisfied with the notice, Kang Zhen sealed it with his emblem and called for a messenger. "Post this on the mission board immediately," he instructed.
As the messenger hurried away, Kang Zhen leaned back in his chair once more, his mind already strategizing the next steps. The arrival of the two outsiders had piqued his curiosity, but for now, his focus remained on ensuring the well-being of his people.
The Neutral Shelter was a sanctuary, and he would do whatever it took to keep it that way.

Meanwhile, Shane and Lysandra wandered through the bustling streets of the Ivory Gear Shelter.
It didn't take long before they realized how great this place was compared to the Nightfall Nexus Shelter.
Their eyes were wide with amazement after realizing that over a thousand people were in this shelter!
This was indeed a thriving community!
The shelter was a hive of activity, with people from various regions mingling and trading.
Nonetheless, what Shane noticed here was that this place was filled with trinkets or small machinery. From their signs, stalls, or even doors, all of them were using interesting pieces of machinery.
'Is this the reason why this place is called Ivory Gear?' Shane mused as he looked around.
The air was filled with the hum of machinery and the chatter of merchants hawking their wares.
They passed by numerous stalls and shops, each offering a unique array of goods.
Trinkets and gadgets of all shapes and sizes were displayed, from intricate clockwork toys to sophisticated mechanical tools.
One shop caught Shane's eye, its sign reading "Advanced Prosthetics." Inside, they saw limbs and appendages that looked almost lifelike, crafted with a blend of metal and enchanted materials.
Even Lysandra was stunned after seeing this…
"Can we try to buy and sell these things in the Marketplace?" Lysandra muttered to herself as she recalled that they were the first to discover the Neutral Shelter. This means that the unique items were all new to the survivors from Earth!
Furthermore, she knew that there were many Survivors who had lost their limbs. There was a Legendary Talent holder who was good at healing and could regenerate lost limbs, but this person's location was kept a secret. Even if you get their help, the fee would not be so cheap either.
"That's not a bad idea. You have to make sure that you'll earn a lot, though." Shane muttered.
"I'll check them later… This place is really incredible…" Lysandra muttered as her gaze sweept over the advanced prosthetics.
"It's like a blend of mechanical engineering and magic." Shane commented.
Lysandra nodded, equally impressed. "I've never seen anything like it. Their technology isn't like the sci-fi scenes I've watched in movies, but this is definitely impressive."
For now, they left the Advanced Prosthetics store and continued their exploration. Anyway, this place should be safe, and they have plenty of time later.
Soon, they noticed a shop selling enchanted weapons and armor. The items glowed faintly, indicating the magical enhancements embedded within.
'That glow… It must be at least Master-Grade.' Shane mused.
Another stall showcased mechanical pets, small creatures made of gears and springs, animated by some unseen force. They don't seem to be able to fight Zombies, but they could be used for entertainment.
'Ahh… They could also be used to lure Zombies, I guess.' Shane thought.
"Look at this," Lysandra said, pointing to a vendor demonstrating a mechanical bird. It flapped its wings and chirped, much to the delight of onlookers.
Shane smiled. "It's interesting… They can probably be used to attract a Zombie's attention." He shared.
They moved on, passing a blacksmith's forge where sparks flew as metal was hammered into shape. The blacksmith, a burly man with a mechanical arm, greeted them with a nod. "Need anything repaired or custom-made?" he asked, his voice gruff but friendly.
"Just looking around for now," Shane replied, admiring the craftsmanship on display.
Further down the street, they found a shop specializing in magical artifacts. The shelves were lined with glowing crystals, enchanted scrolls, and potions of various colors.
The shopkeeper, an elderly woman with a kind smile, welcomed them warmly.
"Feel free to browse," she said. "We have items that can enhance your abilities or provide protection."
Shane and Lysandra exchanged a glance, both realizing the potential of the items before them.
"We'll definitely keep that in mind," Lysandra said, her eyes lingering on a particularly vibrant crystal. The two of them noted this place as well since they were planning to return here once they familiarized themselves with this shelter.
Then, Shane and Lysandra strolled through the bustling plaza of the Ivory Gear Shelter…
"This place is lively…" Shane commented.
The plaza was a hub of activity, with merchants calling out their wares and children playing near the fountain.
As they walked, they overheard snippets of conversation from the passersby.
"Did you hear? Lord Kang Zhen has posted a new commission on the mission board," one man said to his companion.
"Yes, it's about the lack of medical supplies. The reward is supposed to be quite substantial," the other replied.
Intrigued, Shane and Lysandra made their way to the mission board, where a crowd had gathered.
A town crier stood on a raised platform, reading aloud the notice from Lord Kang Zhen.
"Hear ye, hear ye! Lord Kang Zhen seeks a solution to our shortage of medical supplies. Those who can provide strong healing medicines or an equivalent will be rewarded personally by the Lord himself! The complete details will be posted on the mission board!"
Shane's eyes widened as he listened. He believed that he might be able to help.
Of course, he hadn't considered selling his limited number of potions. Instead, he could use his newly acquired talent and skill to resolve this!
This might bring him some trouble, but the opportunity was too good for him to pass up. He knew that he just had to be careful about how he should approach this.
