[VRMMO] Chaos Doctor

After recovering a bit and organizing my stuff, I as planned ended up heading straight towards necromancer base in order to show him the stuff I had obtained recently.

"?!"

"The hell are those things?!" – said the necromancer while inspecting items drops obtained from the Dread Predator.

"I ran into some strong monster like hell that almost killed me. It even destroyed my metal gear and everything with ease and was also covered in bone armor." – said doctor.

"It looked similar to the monster known as Dread Hunter and that guy I hunted was also called Dread Predator."

"That guy wasn't undead, but its materials does possess necrotic element." Discover stories at empire

"Yea… I can see that…. And a lot of it as well."

"…."

"Dwarf. Did you knew about that creature?" – asked doctor while turning towards the dwarf.

"…. No…...Yes…. Don't know."

"I heard about some weird monster hunting undeads…. But I never saw it myself or anything like that." – said dwarf.

"But this? Well… You confirmed that monster did existed."

"…."

"Question." – said doctor.

"This bastard was strong like hell and it almost killed me."

"Its probably the strongest monster out there, specifically in that undead mountain."

"So, I will ask you two straight."

"Is it possible to use those materials to create the unliving heart?"

"And don't you even try to lie or do any bullshit dwarf."

"Remember that the entire city is still being held hostage and I can detonate the plague bombs remotely from here."

"And that also means failure, since we don't know if you did that intentionally or not. So, give us the answer."

"…."

"It…. It is possible…... Maybe."

"However we need to more tests and experiments, since…."

"…. Fine." – said necromancer.

"I will also help out since I did secured some other materials beside those from the Dread Predator." – said doctor.

"Just a reminder, we may not have a lot of time left."

"We need to be careful while making stuff, but we also need to finish the heart soon before get fucked up."

"…Agree." – replied necromancer.

"Well then, lets go to the work already."

With the accusation of the necessary materials for the experiments as well as confirming that the materials from the Dread Predator can maybe be used for the creation of the unliving heart, we straight up got to the work.

While I was focused on gathering materials, the dwarf as well as the necromancer did their research as well as created few experiment heart that did gave us some interesting data. They were not lazing around at all while I was on the material hunt.

Anyway, the test and research regarding the unliving heart continues smoothly.

I did needed to leave the base few times to gather materials and even had to start using my own money for some materials I had brough from the city, since that fuking necromancer didn't had enough money in the end.

Well, at least I didn't had any stupid encounter with another super boss again…. I hope…. Honestly speaking I think I got somewhat lucky when I beat that cat last time…...Yea, maybe I shouldn't try fight the next one until I get some upgrades.

Anyway, the research was going well.

Days went by and we had a lot of progress. Not only that, but thanks to these two I ended up learning a lot from them yet again.

As for the patrols going around? It seems they had calmed down. I guess they believe that the dwarf is nowhere near the city right now… This is good for me, but the atmosphere in the city is quite bad.

Not only that, the dwarf rivals and enemies are trying to replace him.

Honestly, the city in bad state.

Even dwarf is straight up surprised how much the city had changed after he got kidnapped. Honestly, he doesn't even knows if it safe for him to return there…. Yea I'm not blaming him.

Anyway, the tests continues for days. We had some break throughs as well as big flops, but overall, the research was going well.

At first many skeletons were dying from just activating the heart, but then each of them stopped dying.

Then we changed to the elite skeletons and the results were also improving with them.

In the end, the heart was no longer destroying or damaging undeads, but instead strengthening them. Well… There was sometimes explosion.

We had some other problems that did took us some time to deal with, but we did not stopped.

And if anything, we could tell that we were slowly approaching our goal.

"The energy output is stable and there is no problem whatsoever." – said the necromancer.

"The undead is also completely fine and there is no damage anywhere in its body." – said doctor while inspecting the bones of the skeleton.

"This heart was also capable of functioning like the real heart and the energy movement seems to be completely fine."

"We are close." – said doctor.

"FINALY!" – said extremely excited necromancer.

"Calm down." – said the dwarf while taking off the heart off the undead body.

"We are still not done yet."

"The heart can function and it can strengthen your necrotic ability, but it's not finished."

"The mutation process isn't perfected yet and we also need to make a lot of changes and adjustments, since we will be using quiet different materials for finished product."

"Dwarf is right." – said doctor.

"I didn't encounter another Dread Predator so far, so there is chance that we may not be able to obtain more materials like this."

"If we screw it, then you can kiss your unborn unliving heart goodbye before you met it."

'Sigh'

"Yea… You right." – said necromancer.

(Thanks to the doctor providing materials for us and the skills of that dwarf, it is possible to create the unliving heart.) – though the necromancer.

(But if we screw up something, the heart may end up becoming unstable and kills me.)

(The special metal we are creating right now should be able to somewhat fit well for the creation of the unliving heart prototype, but the finally product we would need use those bones from that beast.)

"Hegan." – said doctor.

"Hm?"

"I know that you are excited, but also scared not to fuck up, but you need to relax."

"Focus at the task at hand and only at it." – said doctor while poking at the dark elf forehead.

"Relax, but also focus."

"If you won't do that, then we will never finish the heart."

"Not only that, the city may have reduced the number of the search parties around the city, but that doesn't mean we are safe yet."

"What if they discover this place? What if we kill them in response? Won't it make things look too suspicions?"

"We need to hurry up, but we are also close."

"Just look." – said doctor while showing the necromancer the data records.

"We are so close, so its not like we need to spend a month anymore or anything like that."

"So calm down and focus."

"And if you do that, then the heart will be finished before we get end up being discovered."

"You are right… I was panicking… Sorry." – said necromancer.

"…."

"Rest for now and clam yourself. In your current state it will only get in our way."

"As soon as you calm down and regain your focus, we shall resume our research." – said doctor while picking up chair and giving it to the necromancer.

"…. Yea… Thanks." – said necromancer while sitting down on the chair.

"…."

(Not yet. The timing isn't right yet.) – though Phantasia while looking at the necromancer.

After the necromancer somewhat calmed down and regained his focus, we restarted our research.

Right now, we were focusing on the mutation.

For the unliving heart to truly work as intended, we need to give it ability to mutate the host and evolve it in the way.

The task won't be easy at all.

But we have already a lot of necessary data.

The modified heart that can both function as the normal heart and can work with necrotic element.

And the necromancer research data when he used the heart on the living beings.

That research data was essential for our future experiments and we saw that ourselves while we were conducting experiments on the undeads.

The undeads were showing the mutations we were hoping for.

More and more.

The mutations we were aiming were showing themselves.

Thanks to the necromancer notes, we know that the unliving heart will have specific mutation for undeads and living beings and as soon as we gets the undead mutations right, the mutation for the living being.

Its all thanks to the bizarre nature of the unliving heart that it works perfectly for both the living and undead.

The necromancer only experimented on vermins, but his experiments had indeed proven that the unliving heart can work for the living and dead.

The problem however was the fact that the humans and other races are much different compare to rats and pigeons, meaning that we needed to do a lot of changes.

Still, the undead humans that the necromancer had in reserve were excellent test subjects.

Their bodies was showing a lot of mutations and even new mutations that even necromancer didn't knew about. Probably because of the fact that the target is humanoid species.

But these new mutations are extent, since it will definitely change the living being the way we want it.

Fuck it!

I though it would take a month to finish it, but I was wrong!

The research is speeding up so much to the point we don't have to wait much longer. We almost have all the necessary things to start the creation of the real thing!
