The Martial Unity

Chapter 2621: Soul Retcon

Chapter 2621: Soul Retcon

It was at that moment that Rui understood what was happening. "You..." his eyes sharpened. "You can predict me?"

She smiled pleasantly as she unleashed an onslaught of attacks.

"I'm just thinking."

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

His expression grew severe as her words confirmed his suspicions.

Her Martial Mind was comprised of normal thought. The kind of thought that one cultivated in problem-solving skills in daily life. While there were many kinds of intelligence and thinking, at the end of the day, they could all be distilled to a neural network of electrical impulses flowing through the entirety of the brain that were all indistinguishable and identical in function.

It was theoretically not impossible to take the experience of thought in one's daily life and extract from it an operational process that could be useful in combat.

In practice, this was absolutely impossible.

Up until Amare, the Gen Temple, too, thought this was impossible. Like all Martial Artists around the world, they too formed their systems of thought and nascent Martial Minds consciously, thoughtfully, and distinctively from other kinds of thought that they had in their daily lives.

And then Amare had come along and opened up possibilities that were considered impossible before.

However, what if there was someone with the extraordinary talent of being able to absorb all Martial utility from all experiences as mundane and non-combat as they were?

What if everyone thought this person had contributed to the growth of their Omnimind, a nascent Martial Mind that they had been creating their entire life?

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

Amare blasted him with attack after attack, refusing to let him go. She had collected enough patterns on his movements to form an intuitive predictive model of him. Furthermore, she had entirely negated his powerful Temporal Disharmony by relying entirely on muscle memory instead of conscious coordination.

So what if Rui severely sabotaged her perception of time?

With the quasi-predictions she had come to garner on him, she could coordinate all her movements based on muscle memory alone.

Ordinarily, this was impossible.

Everybody used some amount of conscious coordination.

Whether it was to refine timing or placement.

Not Amare.

Every movement she would have ever made in a battle and every movement she had ever made in her entire life were buried in her muscle memory.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

Despite the overpowering onslaught that threatened to overwhelm him, he could not help but smile with awe.

"Everything is Martial Art..."

She truly embodied this particular philosophy, unlike anything he had ever seen in his entire life.

She excited him.

She excited him like no other person had.

"Fine, I'll stop holding back."

Within the depths of his mind, the Forge of Creation blazed to life for the first time in the entire battle. In the blink of an eye, the extraordinary system of thought parsed the entirety of the battle and all the information that Rui had gathered on her with his predictive model, SOUL model, and general observation.

In the blink of an eye, his mind processed millions and millions of possibilities.

There were countless techniques he could create.

There were countless avenues to explore.

He could create a technique that exploited the absence of high principles in her Martial Art. There was a reason that high principles were the holy grail of the Upper Realms. Sure, she compensated and even overcompensated for their absence with her godly mastery, but the fact of the matter was that they were absent.

He could create techniques that exploited her to fight like an ordinary human.

He could create techniques that exploited the fact that her patterns and muscle memory were extremely rigid because of how deep the reinforcement they had received over a long period of time.

And yet, he didn't.

Because there was one technique that adaptively evolved better for her than any other

technique.

A technique that negated her mastery advantage over him.

"Soul Retcon."

His eyes glowed as he activated Megamind, using it to enhance his self-hypnosis.

Memory after memory, he sealed.

Memory after memory, he replaced.

On the spot, he retconned his entire life.

He sealed away most of his old memories of training other techniques, replacing them with fictional memories of training in the Yin-Yang Spear his entire life. Re-embedding the same memories over and over again, overwriting most of his other Martial muscle memory with the muscle of his Yin-Yang Spear.

It was a truly mentally exhausting process.

And yet, he did it.

Suddenly, everything changed.

Suddenly, he had been training with the Yin-Yang Spear his entire life.

Suddenly, he had been training with this one technique from the very moment he was born!

And it reflected.

While his mastery of the rest of his Martial Art was sealed away, his mastery of the Yin-Yang Spear astronomically heightened temporarily.

This one technique reached the same dimension of godly mastery as all of Amare's movements, negating any advantage she previously held over him.

And thus, he had adaptively evolved his entire life history to defeat her.

Against anyone else, this technique was too dangerous. Rewriting existing memory to hyper- specialize in other memories would have been a blunder of a decision against anyone else.

After all, other mastery was also essential in combat.

But thankfully, the Forge of Creation deemed that she was too lacking in high principles to make use of this extreme shortcoming.

BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

CRACK CRACK CRACK!!

Amare's eyes widened as the sheer amount of force that he delivered with a single blow was

far beyond anything she had ever been hit with in her entire life. The sheer speed and power of the impact was so great that it had ravaged her body, breaking her bones, as it launched her

away.

The Bodhisattvas were shocked by this development.

"What... what is happening?" Bodhisattva Namuk stood up in shock. "What did he do...? Just

what did he do?!"

The other Bodhisattvas were stunned into silence by what they had just witnessed.

Only Bodhisattva Maitreyi was able to retain her composure as she regarded him with a

knowing expression.

"This is the true power of the Dawnbringer," she remarked. "To think that the power of his Adaptive Evolution was this extraordinary. And yet..."

She narrowed her eyes. "...he has yet to draw the full power hidden deep within Amare.
