The Dreamer's POV

Chapter 234 A Chance To Save The Nobles

BOOM!

The violent force reverberated across the hall engulfing everything in flames. I heard screams, nobles toppling each other and people trying to escape. The servants were nowhere to be found, not even the guards could be seen, weren't they aware that their lords needed help?

'What?' I thought, witnessing the wall of fire before me, and the burning bodies of nobles.

The smell of roasted bodies and smoke pervaded everywhere, and it was so hot that breathing was impossible.

I couldn't find Drius, and I couldn't find Theo.

"Theo! Theo! Theo! Theo!" I screamed, drifting my eyes back and forth, in search of the boy lord.

"No no no!"

<Haven> was over me, my protective thin capsule–not for the fire, but for other possible explosions. I had enough life energy that already flames barely posed a hindrance to me.

"Theo! Theo!"

I summoned Black, and instructed him to look for the boy duke. I also called upon Alpha and Beta, and we split to search.

We went back and forth over the hall that seemed even smaller now, yet there was no sign of Theo.

'Has the lady taken him? The lady. She must have something to do with this.' I thought, an ugly frown surfacing on my face as anger sweltered beneath.

I felt Black conflicted about something and I went to where it was in the hall, and there, I found the young duke.

Limbs blown apart that only little of his forearm remained, his legs up to his thighs were gone and his face to his upper chest was charred. It was brutal, it was evil, and it was wicked.

'They'll pay.'

If not for the skill that kept me in a logical state of mind, that sunk the overwhelming sea of emotions, I feared that I might have cried a little there, but I felt nothing but anger, and I clenched my fists, and gritted my teeth that it was a miracle that they didn't fall off.

Black had his attention focused on me, the thing awaited instructions, and I had them, first I had to take what remained of Theo.

His body was almost totally unrecognizable, except that I knew the size of a nine year old, and the color of his outfit still remained. It was him, and he was dead.

I unactivated <Haven> and bent down to feel the boy–the young duke.

For them to have carried this out with little trouble, they must be even more dangerous than the king had said, he had understated the damage they were capable of causing to the continent, however, the question, the constant question was for what purpose? The architects of this, whether be the Alliance of the Nine-Headed Dragon, what did they want? I was really inclined to think it was the former group, the organization led by rankers.

"They will all pay." I declared holding what remained of the young duke in my hands.

Though I was almost certain that she was gone, it wouldn't hurt to try, and I desperately needed clues, I needed to get one of them.

I instantly activated <Elevate> and like the skill hinted, my feet left the floor and I could fly. Theo was in my hand, and I had a target I desperately needed to get.

Drius and Duke Gloria momentarily came to my mind, but I couldn't spare them the time.

I bursted outside and there I saw people scream and guards working on the fire. The whole palace was on fire, and it was a horrible sight.

People caught sight of me, a man levitating with a dead disfigured child in his arms, and they screamed, as if they had just spotted a god of death.

I had no time for them.

'Where! Where! Where!' I moved my head around, and flew about close to the palace, yet I couldn't find the participant who I suspected was behind this, or at least knew something.

In the end, I gave up, and I stopped before the crowd, now distracted by the burning palace, and unaware of my presence in their midst.

I watched as the palace burned, becoming undone by terrible large flames.

'A waste.'

Drius was most likely dead, which was a shame, but then I realized, with all of them dead, things wouldn't matter, and I wouldn't be held back any longer.

This was a blessing in disguise and I had to force myself to think of it that way, unfortunately I wasn't given the time to, as right beneath me, a ball of flame erupted and bathed everyone nearby in its searing delight.

I didn't have <Haven> on and it was a very powerful explosion. Suddenly my vision was gone, and I had died.

"Ughh ughh ughh!" I breathed heavily, like I had just cut loose from a strangulation.

"Huh, Luke, are you alright?"

I looked at the young boy, he had his smile, his beautiful skin, outfit and most importantly, he was alive.

<Dream> had reseted everything, I have been handed a chance once again to fix everything, and for that, I was glad.

With <Dream>, I was unstoppable.

"Yes… I'm…alright." I answered rather slowly as if I was stupefied by something.

I shook my head, felt that my belly was full like the last time.

I looked forward to Drius who wore his proud and happy smirk, looking absolutely ready to have fun in there.

There were no screams, and they were both alive.

I was going to find the culprits these time around, no one was going to do any exploding.

"Guys, why don't you go ahead, I'll meet you later, I have got to use the toilet."

"Are you sure? I am certain that they have good toilets in there. Do you want us to wait for you?" Theo asked.

I looked at the young boy and then the hall appeared in my mind, I had been there, and so I could teleport. I just needed a quiet place that wouldn't capture any attention.

'Ah yes, where I had sat had little people. <Greater teleportation> shouldn't startle too many of them there.

"No, just go on ahead, I will catch up in no time." I declared and urged the two to move forward.

Reluctantly, they did and went for the stairs, I saw Theo gave me a look and once he turned back to the stairs, I disappeared.

It was time for action, and I needed to be quick.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

I ran to the side and looked for an empty corner to do my business, the thing was that it was night time and it shouldn't be a problem to find a spot and do terrible things, but the Royal Capital was different, it was like the city didn't sleep, which reminded me of certain metropolises back on earth that were dubbed the name, 'The city that doesn't sleep.'

Everywhere, every shop and almost every building were illuminated by a special rock which I later learned were called glow rocks and were one of the most valuable minerals gotten from the mines Duke Markus Gloria held.

Seeing the coast was clear, I called on five of my minions. The truth was that I needed more, but I couldn't afford scaring people and catching attention–wyverns weren't known to be very discreet, and I needed stealth more than ever now, for there were forces at play that I still don't have an estimate of their power and influence.

The last thing I wanted was to be a puppet under someone's strings.

I summoned Black–the best at stealth and the most dependable of my minions, and then the four demonified humans I had at my disposal.

<Alpha>, <Gamma>, <Beta>, and <Omega>. Though they were pale and lacked as much vitality as the average person, they could still blend in with the others.

They were the ones I needed.

I had Black sneak by and swiftly assault the guards that approved those that were to enter, taking them away from the scene.

I binded five of them with a high quality rope I got from <shop>, a cheap durable thing, and I had minions wear their armour, and since the armour covered a good portion of their bodies, there was little to worry about.

I showed them a copy of the letter of invitation which I had made being the over thinker I was and gave them the instruction to watch over the entrance, and to allow those who beared the scroll but bar and try to capture a pale woman who would dress in a terribly black gown as if she was attending a funeral and anyone that might be with her.

Getting her was a priority, and they understood this. Black had knocked the guys one by one, and I replaced them with <Great teleportation>, we were so fast, and almost instantaneous that nobody noticed us switching guards.

I placed Black on scouting duty, it needed to be everywhere all at once. I needed it to constantly watch around for any suspicious matters and report immediately to me.

Once I delegated these tasks, I realized that it was time for me to join the bunch.

I activated <Greater Teleportation> and I was in the hall, sitting where I had intended, and nobody freaked out from my sudden appearance, nobody noticed for I was nobody there.

'I must get Theo by my side and crack down this plot.'
