Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Departure

As night fell, the whole family entered the Space. They were setting out tomorrow, and although they didn’t know what might happen on the road, they were not worried. Instead, they were looking forward to the safe haven in S City that Su Jin had spoken of. Su Jin had mentioned that the base in S City was still under construction, which meant if they went now, they could secure a favorable position for themselves.

“Su Jin, is it too late for us to head there now?” Lin Xiuyuan asked while eating a steamed bun.

“No, it’s not too late. That place is still untouched by others, and it probably won’t catch people’s attention until a month or two later.”

Su Jin was quite certain about this. They indeed could have gone there before the Apocalypse, or even in the early post-apocalyptic period, but firstly, before the Apocalypse there were people guarding the place, so even if their whole family went, they wouldn’t have been able to get in. Secondly, Lu Hao’s friends were still here, so bringing them along would have been hard to explain.

The early post-apocalyptic period was also an excellent time to strengthen the family’s abilities, which is why she decided to wait until now.

Su Jin had given the Water Element Crystal Core she obtained that day to Huang Yunxiang, who had awakened her Water Element Ability first. Huang Yunxiang was so grateful she didn’t know how to express her feelings; Su Jin was even more of a family to her than her relatives.

Lin Tianzhen certainly didn’t mind, after all, she had awakened her Water Element Ability using a Five Elements Pill and felt it was better to consolidate her foundation for the time being.

After Su Jin stepped out of the Space, she stood on the balcony, looking at the house. If possible, she truly wished she could take this house with her.

The second-floor balcony was where she often watched the stars on summer nights.

Grandma’s little garden with the loofah vines still growing.

Lost in thought, she was embraced from behind by a familiar set of arms.

“What are you thinking about?” Lu Hao’s deep voice sounded from behind her.

“Just taking one last look at the house I’ve lived in since childhood, since we might never see it again.”

“Yeah, I’ll watch with you.”

Lu Hao held Su Jin in silence, and they quietly enjoyed their last night in their hometown together.
