Chapter 1120: Profession Specialization Scroll
Chapter 1120: Profession Specialization Scroll
While the stats it gave and its passive effect Calm The Beast were not all that impressive, the Leaf of Serenity Necklace stood out because of one thing-it granted magic power.
Magic power was a highly sought-after stat for magic casters. That's because it did not only increase one's damage but the entirety of a magic caster's spells. For example, take it that one's magic power was at 10%. If that were the case, a spell that had 100 damage, a 1 second stun, 1 second cast time, and a 10 second cooldown, would suddenly become a spell with 110 damage, a 1.10 second stun, 0.90 second cast time, and a 9 second cooldown.
Every aspect of a magic caster's spell would be influenced by magic power. On the surface, it only seemed like a small 10% increase, but in reality, the power boost one received to their overall strength was much larger than a mere 10%.
Furthermore, the Leaf of Serenity Necklace's active effect, Serene Focus, was a magic caster's dream. Immunity to cast interruption, a reduction of 50% cast time, and, more importantly, it granted an additional 10% magic power. All of which lasted ten minutes!
While it was a shame that its cooldown time lasted one day, it could not be helped as the active effect was more than useful enough to justify such a length.
'Since I had to hand over the Seventh Origin Flames Necklace to its rightful owner, I'm currently lacking a necklace. For now, I'll wear it until I acquire something more suitable. It feels like a waste to keep such a necklace to myself when I'm not a magic caster. I'll have to find a more suitable owner for it.'
Izroth equipped the Leaf of Serenity Necklace. In terms of appearance, it was a simple- looking necklace with a plain dark brown leather cord that held a verdant gem shaped like a falling leaf drifting in a gentle breeze.
'With this, my mana is close to 5,000. If I include my artificial mana pool that can hold up to 5,000 mana, my total mana is almost at 10,000. As long as it's in the correct order, I shouldn't have a problem simultaneously activating all four states of the Call of the Thunder God. Even then, I'll still have some mana left over.'
After examining and equipping the Leaf of Serenity Necklace, Izroth shifted his attention to the last item of his quest reward.
'I was worried what would happen to my current profession if I used this scroll, but it seems my concerns were unwarranted.'
Name: Profession Specialization Scroll
Rank: Legendary
Usage: Upon use, the user is able to choose one of four professions equal to this scroll's rank to learn. The user will also receive a «<Profession Starter Kit» based on the selected profession. If the user already has a profession and is unable to learn a new one, the user will retain their previous profession grade, but will no longer be able to progress along that profession's path until reaching grade ten of their new profession.
Under normal circumstances, if one used a legendary grade Profession Specialization Scroll when they already had a profession, while it would not erase their profession or its progress, it made it so that advancing along that profession's path became an impossibility. That is, at least, until one mastered the profession they acquired from the Profession Specialization Scroll.
However, Izroth's case was different thanks to the Prodigy's Right passive of the Unparalleled Craftsman skill he obtained from the God of Craft, Mazi.
The restriction of the Profession Specialization Scroll only applied to those who were unable to learn a new profession. Of course, this was standard for the vast majority of players in RML.
On the other hand, Prodigy's Right was something that allowed Izroth to learn multiple professions. At the moment, he could only have up to two professions, but this would increase with the rise of his skill mastery of Unparalleled Craftsman. More importantly, it let him effectively bypass the restriction of the Profession Specialization Scroll. Due to this, he would not have to worry about not being able to make progress with his Apothecary profession.
'Let's see if it was worth keeping my second profession slot empty.'
Izroth tore the legendary grade Profession Specialization Scroll as a shining golden light appeared and the Profession Specialization Scroll dissipated.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Woosh! Woosh!
As the Profession Specialization Scroll dissipated, it fused together with the golden light and swirled around Izroth as if it were performing a ribbon dance of golden energy.
System Alert: You have used x1 <<Legendary: Profession Specilization Scroll»>!
[System Alert: Please select one of the following professions.[]
As the system alerts went off, a transparent screen materialized before Izroth that contained a small list of four names with a brief description next to each of them.
[Magic Architect: Create powerful magic items.]
[Spirit Gardener: Raise plants, ores, and other things that are a part of nature with increased quality and speed.]
[Magic Golem Engineer: Create powerful magic golems.]
[Arcane Script Runemaster: Create powerful arcane scripts.]
"The only profession on this list I'm somewhat familiar with is Magic Architect. I must say, the descriptions are rather lackluster for legendary professions. I suppose it will have to speak for itself.' Magic Architect, Spirit Gardener, Magic Golem Engineer, and Arcane Script Runemaster-out of these four legendary-ranked professions, Izroth was only familiar with Magic Architect through Morrighan. As for Spirit Gardener, it was not difficult to grasp its purpose. If Izroth had to compare it to something, it would be like the more advanced version of a Herbalist with several special aspects.
When it came to the Magic Golem Engineer profession, while Izroth had not come across any magic golems in person or seen any players with the profession, he knew about the existence of magic golems from one of the books he read in the private crafting room of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms Holy Maiden, Seina.
According to what he read, magic golems were typically split into two types. The first was support-type magic golems.
Support-type magic golems could be used for a wide variety of tasks; however, their primary function was physical labor. A single support-type magic golem was easily equivalent to a workforce of 100 men, perhaps even more.
The second type of magic golems were combat golems. Just as their name implied, they were used for combat. It was said that a single standard combat-type magic golem was equal to a small well-trained army. Furthermore, not only did the magic golems possess immense physical strength and durability, but there were even mentions of some being capable of
using magic.
There was also a third type of unknown magic golem that was said to be able to contend with legendary realm powerhouses; however, the book Izroth read did not have any details outside of a single line regarding that magic golem.
'From what I know, there are only a few ancient magic golems that still exist. Most of them are kept under heavy guard in the Kingdom of Proximus so no one has probably seen them since the shadahi
incident years ago."
