Chapter 700: 700: Slaying
Chapter 700: Chapter 700: Slaying
“They’ve retreated, they’re not chasing us anymore!”
“Haha, that’s great! We’ve finally managed to save our lives!”
“Huh, why aren’t they chasing us? There’s no reason not to, could it be… there’s an even more powerful monster up ahead?”
“Stop guessing. We were saved by the Alliance Leader. Just follow me and keep moving forward!” Wang Qi looked irritably at his companion next to him and said.
Zhang Ziqiang breathed a sigh of relief and ordered the five Giant Tree-men to return and guard this group of people as they continued their journey forward.
The pressure those five individuals put on them was immense, so seeing them retreat gave everyone a sense of escaping a sure death.
As they continued forward, it didn’t take long for them to quickly reconvene with Song Jian.
Song Jian had initially prepared himself for battle, but he didn’t expect the Disaster Poison Fog to be so effective as to drive away the pursuers directly.
Under Song Jian’s lead, everyone finally arrived at the base of the Undead Tower.
“My God, Shadow River, an entire Shadow River! It’s the main ingredient for crafting Shadow Defence Elixirs! Only three drops of Shadow Water are needed for one bottle. How many elixirs could this craft!” exclaimed a player with Alchemy as his life skill, looking awestruck.
Shadow River water was the purest form of Shadow Energy and a superior ingredient for some potion crafting. The income from selling the water from this river alone could be massive, and its value lay not just in crafting Shadow Defence Elixirs. Just this river could probably nurture hundreds of Alchemy Masters.
“Look at the riverbed, what are those? Gems?” someone pointed at the riverbed and shouted loudly.
“They’re gems, gems that can be embedded into equipment! Haha, so many! I’m gonna fill my equipment with gems!”
“Look at that mountain! It is full of Shadow Stones, and they are of the highest quality! We need lots of miners, we have to encourage Alliance members to quickly improve their Mining Skills!”
Looking at the players in the Alliance thrilled by the abundant resources, a smile spread across Song Jian’s face. Once they secure the Valley of the Undead with plentiful resources, the strength of the Alliance would greatly improve. Not only would they be able to upgrade to a city-level, his Sword Spirit would presumably birth quickly as well.
“Sword Core…” An image emerged in Song Jian’s mind once again – a man alone with a sword, facing thousands of soldiers, and a tiny Sword Core killing hundreds of monsters from hundreds of meters away. The scene of damage was so overwhelming that it left Song Jian still shaken to this day; he couldn’t stop longing for it.
With a thought, Song Jian returned to the seventh floor of the Undead Tower. Saramo was much more proficient in controlling the pivot of the Undead Tower than Song Jian, having done so for several years now.
“Saramo, what’s the situation with those men?” Song Jian asked.
“They have escaped to the Transmission Array, but they don’t have the authority. They can’t use the Transmission Array to leave!” Saramo said respectfully.
“Be careful not to let them destroy the Transmission Array!” Song Jian reminded.
“Rest assured, great master. The Transmission Array in the Valley of the Undead is protected by Magic Rune Array. If they dare to attack the Transmission Array, they will suffer the backlash from the Magic Rune Array which would leave them no chance of survival!” Saramo explained respectfully.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Song Jian nodded, a hint of regret flashing in his eyes as he looked at Saramo.
The Shackles Mark only lasts for a month. After a month, the Mark would disappear. When the time comes, Song Jian will have to make a choice: either offer Saramo a slave contract or kill him outright.
Song Jian can’t possibly stay in the Undead Tower indefinitely. If under Saramo’s control, it would be ideal. However, the Undead Tower is too crucial, and if Saramo were to have any devious plans, he could potentially manipulate it to cause the death of all members of the City of Hope Alliance in the Undead Valley.
“What a pity!” Song Jian thought to himself.
…
At the Transmission Array in the Valley of the Undead, a look of terror crossed the faces of Kulu and his men. They discovered that the Transmission Array in the Valley of the Undead seemed to have ceased functioning. Regardless of how they tried to operate it, they couldn’t teleport out.
What frightened them the most was, even after hiding here, the effect of the Disaster Poison Fog showed no signs of weakening.
“Why is this happening? It’s not supposed to. Why would the Transmission Array shut down?!” Lachi roared in anger. A look of despair flashed in his eyes. His Vitality Points had dropped to about one-third, and there were only two potions left to restore his Vitality Points. He couldn’t hold on much longer.
“Damn it, the effect of this poison fog isn’t weakening at all… when we first entered, it only took one Vitality Point every five seconds…”
“Someone must be targeting us. They can control the whole valley!”
“Whoever you are, stop hiding and come out!”
The group screamed in a frenzy, but in Song Jian’s eyes, it was nothing more than their futile struggle before dying.
“We are warriors of the Crow Legion from the 101 Gathering Area. If you spare us this time, you’ll gain the friendship of the 101 Gathering Area!” Kulu suddenly shouted into the air.
“101 Gathering Area?” Song Jian squinted his eyes. He and the 101 Gathering Area were arch-enemies. They had thwarted his operations in Doomsday City several times, and he didn’t expect to encounter their members here, of all places.
“It seems like the 101 Gathering Area is preparing the upgrade to a city-level too!” Song Jian thought to himself.
The 101 Gathering Area had been around for over a decade and had profound resources. Their advancement to city-level had been hindered by the Transmission Array building for a long time, and unexpectedly, they had successfully built one already. It seemed that it wouldn’t be long before the 101 Gathering Area would become the 101 City.
“Since you are from the 101 Gathering Area, I can’t let you leave alive even more!” A hint of killing intent flashed across Song Jian’s eyes. He placed his hand on the control crystal and with a thought, the Disaster Poison Fog near the Transmission Array started to boil and formed a gigantic vortex above the five of them.
Soon after, several tentacles, each hundreds of meters long emerged from the vortex, waving and intertwining towards the five individuals like octopus tentacles.
Each of these tentacles possessed the power of a first-tier warrior, way beyond the capabilities of the now seriously injured Kulu and his men. A few minutes later, Lachi, the assassin, let out a dreadful scream before spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood and collapsing weakly.
One after another, the rest also ended up as corpses. Just before dying, Kulu looked up at the enormous poison fog vortex above him with an enlightened look on his face, realizing that the person controlling the Undead Valley must be an enemy of the 101 Gathering Area.
“What a pity… I can’t pass this information to the leader…” A regretful look flashed across Kulu’s face just as he drew his last breath and passed away.
