Chapter 309: The Ancient Clans.
On the giant Earth Rats, leading the group was a young man with a prideful expression on his face.
He wore an expensive robe displaying his noble birth, and on his waist was a Grade-3 greatsword, exuding an intimidating aura.
"Young Master Cheng," a young man with a flattering smile called from the side.
"Luo, what is it?" Cheng asked with a cold expression.
"Ah, Young Master, I have a suggestion," Luo said with a trembling voice.
"What is it?"
"Since we're going to kill these primitive ants, I think we should take our time before killing. Dying our hands would be a great privilege. What do you think, Young Master?"
With a deadpan expression, Cheng looked at him and said coldly.
"Are you stupid or what? Don't you see the chaos right in front of us, and you dare to have such useless thoughts right now."
"Get back in line and prepare for battle," he commanded.
With that, he turned his head and looked at thousands of soldiers killing their Earth-Eating Rats as if they were killing ants.
He was furious; these were the beasts cultivated by their clans. Anytime they needed to wipe off some enemies, they would release them.
This strategy had been working for ages, but not until now. He already sent the report of the strange situation to his clans and was waiting for more reinforcement.
Before the arrival of the reinforcement, he wanted to vanquish these people that dared to kill their beasts.
The Chen clans are one of the seven ancient clans. They lived in a hidden realm that solely belonged to them.
Apart from the ancient clans having a complete inheritance, they had powerful bloodlines.
The Chen bloodlines came from the Earth-Eating Rats. With the ability to control earth, it makes them a deadly foe to encounter.
Control over Earth gave them an almost impenetrable defense to almost all attacks.
They might not be the strongest of the seven ancient clans, but they were not something ordinary humans could defeat.
With such powerful bloodlines oozing through their veins and powerful techniques, the army from the Chen clan had already seen victory before the battle even began.
While the Chen clan young master was filled with a deadly gaze, Xi had a calm expression on his face.
The millions of Earth-Eating Rats had been vanquished in just a matter of ten or so minutes.
Now, the few remaining Earth-Eating Rats were scrambling for their lives. As for the order from their master, to hell with that.
Still, the Vanguards did not let them off so easily, chasing and killing them.
When Cheng saw this, he was furious and shouted.
"Retreat!"
His voice was filled with urgency. He nudged his mount, urging it to run faster.
Behind him, a solemn expression marred the faces of the army. They were all seethed in rage.
When the distance between them was less than one hundred meters, they unsheathed their weapons.
Their eyes bloodshot, filled with fury as they couldn't wait to kill this insignificant being in front of them.
While the Chen army unsheathed their weapons, Xi called back his men.
All the vanguards stood straight like a straight as they waited for the arrival of their new enemy.
20 meters to impact and Xi did not seem to give them commands.
The soldiers looked at each other, not understanding what was going on in the mind of the commander.
10 Meters to impact.
Tension hung in the sky, dangling back and forth, ready to be unleashed.
Young Master Cheng had his cold gaze fixed on Xi's face as he couldn't wait to drench his sword in his blood.
The ground trembled, and the intimidating snarl of the Massive Earth-Eating Rats echoed in their ears.
With the enemies right in front of them, the barren lander soldiers were filled with nervousness.
Why was their commander not giving them an order?!
They were conflicted.
Suddenly, Xi, a cunning smile appeared on his face as he shouted.
"Trident battle formation."
When they heard his command, a sigh of relief escaped from their mouths as they moved swiftly to form the trident formation.
"For the glory of the barren land!" Xi shouted.
"Charge!"
Watching the incoming Barren Land soldiers charging toward them, Cheng had a sharp glint on his face.
"Kill them all. Leave no one behind," he commanded, pointing his broadsword at his enemies.
The ferocious massive Earth-Eating Rats snarled, showing their fangs with their eyes filled with hatred for the humans coming toward them.
They watched how the humans massacre their kin, and they couldn't wait to devour the humans.
Bang!
Finally, the two sides collided.
Cheng and his army were expecting to destroy the barren land army formation with a single strike.
They were equipped with the best weapons and have a complete technique. Thus, they did not see the enemies having a chance at all.
What happened now was beyond their imagination.Instead of their enemies dying at their swords, they were sent flying from their mounts.
Cheng, wielding a Grade-3 weapon, could not kill his enemies with a single attack. He only managed to send them sliding back a couple of feet.
He was an Intermediate Core Refining realm stage 6, and with a Grade-3 weapon, his battle strength had jumped to the early Golden Core realm.
And yet, he could not kill an ordinary Peak Qi Refinement realm soldier.
Xi watched the shocking expression on their faces, and a chuckle escaped from his lips.
The bloodline of the barren land was not something some rats could be compared to.
"Raindrop formation!" he shouted with his voice filled with pride.
They took the passive side in the first attack, and now it was their turn to feel their fury.
The Barren Land soldiers formed a swift group of formations like raindrops.
Each group was led with sturdy individuals using long, deadly spears.
The formation was swift, confusing the Chen army. What were their enemies up to? They all thought with confusion marring their faces.
However, they did not need to wait too long when they got the response.
"KILL!"
