Chapter 11
C11 – Kill Lee Wang
When a human forges a contract with a Demonic Pet, the death of the pet doesn’t spell the end for the human. However, the Demonic Pet Master will suffer an indescribable Soul Injury. Moreover, their first Demonic Pet Space will be sealed off. Without discovering Heaven-earth Materials And Treasures to heal the soul, one could never hope to become a Demonic Pet Master again in their lifetime.
As the Blood Wolf perished, Lee Wang was writhing on the ground in agony, clutching his head and rolling about. “My head, my head, ahh!!!”
The Hu Family’s servants were petrified, trembling with fear. At the moment Lee Wang collapsed, they scrambled and fled in a panic.
Witnessing this, Chen Fengqing was frozen in shock, like a statue.
Chen Wu, seizing the opportunity, wouldn’t allow these servants to escape and alert others. Every additional moment he could spend cultivating would bolster his confidence in confronting Hu Wang.
“Attack, Blood Rain, unleash the Feather Arrow. Spare no one!”
With a piercing cry, the Iron-feather Eagle launched its assault on the fleeing humans without a moment’s hesitation. Its soul was bound to Chen Wu’s, and it could keenly sense the intense rage and murderous intent emanating from its master.
As a Demonic Pet, its purpose was clear-cut: eliminate any creature that brought displeasure to its master.
The servants could never outrun the Iron-feather Eagle soaring through the skies. Within mere moments, the eagle was hovering above them. Its metallic feathers bristled and transformed into deadly blades that rained down like a torrential storm.
The Feather Arrow’s attack had a thirty-meter radius. Anything within that diameter would be indiscriminately struck by the lethal Iron-feathers.
Amidst harrowing screams, more than a dozen servants were riddled with holes, their bodies skewered by the Iron-feather Eagle’s relentless barrage, leaving them as lifeless husks at the doorstep of Chen Wu’s home.
Villagers who witnessed the carnage from a distance fled in terror.
Chen Wu approached the pained Lee Wang, who, despite his suffering, fixed his gaze on Chen Wu with a mix of fear, pain, and desperation. His voice quivered as he pleaded, “Chen… Wu, you can’t kill me… My father is Hu Wang. If you kill me… you’ll have to join me in death!”
Chen Wu’s heart remained undisturbed, and he even felt a hint of amusement. He responded with a cold sneer, “Is that so? Hmph, well, let him come then!”
“Before that, I’ll be taking some interest. Rest assured, your father will soon join you in the grave!”
With those words, Chen Wu turned and walked away.
Lee Wang had thought Chen Wu wouldn’t dare to kill him again and let out a sigh of relief. But in the next instant, a massive shadow plummeted from the sky, its sharp claws piercing through his skull, his head bursting open like a watermelon!
Brain matter spilled across the ground…
Having dealt with Lee Wang, Chen Wu felt a significant sense of relief. The bitterness in his heart had subsided somewhat, but it wasn’t enough—Hu Wang had to die!
Chen Wu wasn’t inherently petty, but in this world, it was survival of the fittest. Strength reigned supreme. The common folk were at the bottom, while Demonic Pet Masters, with their formidable powers, dominated all so-called order. Whether aristocrats or the wealthy, their riches and assets made them nothing more than slightly plumper sheep.
A Demonic Pet Master with mighty martial prowess and supernatural Demonic Pet powers could have it all with ease. As long as they didn’t overstep the empire’s order, who could hold them accountable?
Take Chen Wu, for example. Without his system, he would have been justly bullied by Hu Wang, with no one to defend him. People would be too busy avoiding him to care. He would have met a miserable end, either starving to death or drowning in the Gold-sand River, becoming a mere ghost. And for a spoiled brat like Lee Wang, with the backing of a powerful Demonic Pet Master and being one himself, even if he had killed Chen Wu and his father, no one would have sought justice for them.
Not even the so-called support from Flame City behind Chen Wu.
After all, it was nothing more than a favor owed to his late father by a friend he’d never met. But who would wage war over a dead man? Besides, by that point, even if Hu Wang were killed as retribution, what would it matter?
In this harsh, unfeeling world, if Chen Wu wanted to stand his ground and grow stronger, he had no one to rely on but himself.
“Sigh… Chen, you… sigh…”
Chen Fengqing watched Chen Wu dispatch everyone without a moment’s hesitation. In his eyes, there was a mix of excitement and profound relief.
Chen Wu was no longer the mischievous troublemaker he once was. He had transformed, becoming resolute, mature, and a true powerhouse!
Chen Fengqing reminisced about his own youth, a time when he too was brimming with vigor and had successfully bonded with a Demonic Pet. He and Chen Wu’s father had made names for themselves in Green-mount Town. But then tragedy struck, his Demonic Pet perished, and he was left in a state of hopeless stagnation.
Chen Wu’s father, on the other hand, had soared away from this desolate place like a majestic eagle. His brilliance was such that, even from afar, Chen Fengqing would catch whispers of his enduring legend.
Fate, however, can be cruel. On that stormy night, he arrived at Chen Fengqing’s doorstep, drenched in blood, and entrusted the young Chen Wu to his care.
He then watched as he, weakened and bloodied, departed on his Demonic Pet, never to return. Chen Fengqing knew in his heart that his return was impossible; his life was at its end.
Deep down, Chen Fengqing wished for Chen Wu to lead a safe and uneventful life, to avoid the grim fates that befell him and his father. The path of the mighty is fraught with peril.
The realm of the strong is not only riddled with obstacles and mortal dangers but is also far colder and more merciless than that of the Everyman. It is a life of solitude, filled with deceit, conspiracies, greed, and hatred… It is not merely a journey towards the heavens but also a dance with demons.
Yet, in Chen Wu, he saw the echo of his father’s spirit—the same qualities and fiery passion that now filled him with self-reproach. He had been dulled by despair and complacency, accustomed to humiliation. He was nothing more than a lonely old man at the edge of the village.
But what right did he have to hold back a young man brimming with fervor from seeking a path of glory?
“Old man…”
Chen Wu, seeing the old man’s tear-streaked face, felt unsure of himself. Had his own ruthless actions in battle frightened the old man?
“You’ve done well. It’s just that grandpa is getting old and a bit muddled. You’re destined to walk a path of courage…”
“In the future, pursue whatever you wish. I’m old and have no right to hold you back. Flame City is an opportunity your father secured for you. You must seize it. Child, having made your choice, you cannot back down!”
The elderly man grasped Chen Wu’s hand, his own shaking.
A wave of sadness washed over Chen Wu, yet it was accompanied by a surge of unstoppable drive.
Rest assured, old timer. I, Chen Wu, am determined to carve out my own path of strength!
