Clan Cultivation: Starting from Beast Taming

After returning from Supreme Elder Zhou Mingde's cave dwelling, Zhou Chun had a heartfelt and confidential talk with Clan Leader Zhou Daoyi.

Following their private discussion, Clan Leader Zhou Daoyi officially retired from the limelight to focus on his cultivation.

As for Zhou Chun, he began to officially exercise the powers of the Clan Leader with the identity of the Vice Clan Leader.

He first did three things, one of which was to order the Spirit Beast Restaurant in the marketplace to place an order with the "Heavenly Treasure Pavilion" for two Magic Artifacts capable of collecting and holding Golden Qi.

At the same time, he posted a task within the family for the Zhou Family Cultivators in the Qi Refinement Realm to collect Golden Qi using the gourd Magic Artifact he had previously used.

Having made these arrangements for his own cultivation, Zhou Chun began to work on the administrative reforms of the Zhou Family in various aspects.

He first invited several Elders and Clan Leader Zhou Daoyi to the Central Peace Hall for a high-level Elder meeting, where they approved the plan to employ Mundane Clansmen to work in the mountains.

He then had the Mundane Clansmen whom he had previously gathered and trained in secret brought to the mountains.

Now, after three successive relocations, the Zhou Family had relocated nearly fifty thousand Mundane Clansmen from Fengguo, the majority of whom were young males and females.

Those who remained in Fengguo were mostly elderly and infirm, unable to endure the arduous journey, and could no longer be relocated on a large scale.

Thus, unless they have the resolve to trek thousands of miles to Jingguo Country for a reunion, the Zhou Family will no longer consider relocating Mortals from Fengguo.

With these fifty thousand Mundane Clansmen as a base, the Zhou Family could propagate several hundred thousand Mundane Clansmen within a hundred years in Jingguo Country!

The group of Mortals Zhou Chun had brought up the mountain were meticulously selected from among these fifty thousand Mundane Clansmen.

There were a total of seventy people, most of whom were energetic young adults.

Six of them were retained by Zhou Chun at Pagoda Peak, where he had four individuals adept at numerical calculations and record-keeping serve as Scribes, specifically to document the daily affairs handled by him as the Clan Leader.

Two sturdy men served as Hall Guards, responsible for relaying messages.

The rest of the people, twelve individuals familiar with medicinal materials, were sent to Hundred Medicines Peak to assist in caring for Spiritual Medicines and perform various miscellaneous tasks.

Thirty-six people were dispatched to the Beast Garden to help feed Demon Beasts and do all sorts of odd jobs.

Another sixteen people were sent to the other eight peaks to assist Peak Masters with various data statistics.

This was the preliminary arrangement for bringing Mortals up the mountain.

However, Zhou Chun's reforms for the Zhou Family did not stop there.

In his vision and plan, the Zhou Family was to establish multiple divisions, each corresponding to a specific area of affairs, with the Peak Masters becoming merely symbolic honors.

Yet to realize this plan, not only did he need to persuade the Peak Masters of each peak, but he also had to wait until he found suitable leaders and staff for each division.

Therefore, after these Mortals had taken their positions, he went on to do several more things.

First, he had each Peak Master record changes in every Family Cultivator's Cultivation Level, with reports due monthly.

Second, he took inventory of each Cultivator's skills, which Spirit Pets they owned, and the family tasks they had previously executed.

On the other hand, he personally took the time to call each Clan Member to Central Peace Hall to inquire whether they were interested in any particular field and had plans to serve the family in some capacity.

Afterward, Zhou Chun also encouraged Clan Members to recommend trustworthy Loose Cultivators, registering their information, compiling it into a directory, to be kept in reserve.

In the end, Zhou Chun proposed the creation of a chart called the Family Contribution Chart.

The chart would list the top ten Clan Members who made the greatest contributions to the family each year and award them extra prizes.

It would also list the five Clan Members with the lowest contributions to the family each year.

This chart would later be posted outside the Zhou Family's ancestral hall for all Clan Members to view at any time!

Since these measures and reforms did not significantly infringe upon the Clan Members' bottom lines, only consuming a part of their time for some statistics and surveys, they were successfully implemented.

As the Family Contribution Chart had just been established and had not yet been officially posted to announce the first year's results, it also had not caught much of the Clan Members' attention.

As many Zhou Family Cultivators grew busy due to Zhou Chun's succession of orders, he himself went to Flying Rock Peak.

The Peak Master of Flying Rock Peak, Zhou Daoquan, was currently in seclusion attempting to break through the latter stages of Foundation Establishment, with no news coming forth.

Fortunately, the custodian of the Book Collection Tower, the Green Wood Spirit Ape, was still diligently guarding the place.

Upon arriving, Zhou Chun immediately slapped his Storage Pouch at his waist and took out several Spirit Fruits and a jug of Spirit Fruit Wine.

He then smiled at the Green-Haired Giant Ape, whose appetite was clearly roused, and said, "Elder Yuan, these Spirit Pears and this jug of Hundred Fruits Wine were specifically collected and purchased from the Marketplace for you. How do they taste?"

Upon hearing these words, the Green-Haired Giant Ape immediately "woo-wooed" and said, "Good lad, it looks like you're not serving as the Vice Clan Leader in vain. Let this old ape have a taste!"

Although spoken in ape language, Zhou Chun, who was relatively familiar with the language, understood the meaning.
