Chapter 116: Declarations

"Welcome to the Alliance! All of us have been harmed by the church in some way and we all know of their corruption."

The celestial queen addressed the crowd in the seats.

"Each of you are here today for your own reasons but these reasons lead to the same conclusion, the destruction of the false church!"

She sat back down and looked at each of the leaders at the table.

"The heavens are not able to personally fight due to our oath to the system and our goddess but we can provide assistance to those who are fighting. Each of the leaders here will represent their individual nations while those of you who represent smaller regions will have our assistance."

She turns to each of the leaders at the table.

"Before we begin we must officially take a side in this conflict, those of you who wish to take a side simply to remove the church need only accept the invitation to the Alliance while those who want to come to agreement should prepare their contracts."

After signing their contracts for the regions they represented many began to leave but Lucretia was surprised by how many stayed.

The races that remained were mainly those that resembled humans in some way.

Elves, dwarves, etc.

There were others like certain beastfolk tribes that were not battle obsessed or there were those that were known to be skeptical of other races like the seafolk.

The result was a third of the seats still being full of people that had various reasons to either listen to more of the conversation or those that wanted to make a deal before accepting the Alliance position.

"Now let us begin with the kingdoms. Brachek please start us off."

The draconic king nodded and began to describe what his empire could offer.

"I have the oldest and wisest mages of any kingdom at my disposal, we would be able to wipe the disciples from the face of the world!"

The others nodded in agreement at this, it was well known that dragons had the longest lifespans of any sentient race which meant they had the longest growth period for their power.

"I can also bring thousands of draconic warriors! If they know what we are fighting it may even be possible to get the immortals on our side!"

The immortals were a group of draconic warriors that had grown so powerful that they would not be easily defeated in battle.

The last known record of an immortal warrior of the draconic race dying was over five thousand years ago.

"In addition to forces we can provide tools crafted from draconic scales and bones, our fallen would be proud to know that they can still aid in battle!"

This was another odd aspect of the dragons, they felt a great deal of pride for their remains to he turned into tools for battle.

It was known that when a dragon was approaching the end of their life they had a strange ritual where they would seek out those they felt were worthy warriors or mages and they would challenge them to a battle to the death.

Others of their race would be present to witness the battle and should a dragon fall to their chosen one the officials would explain what the wishes of the fallen were.

Inside of every dragon they had the same core as others but it was surrounded by their heart, this was seen as the most powerful material for crafting any magically enhanced object and therefore was the gift given to the chosen.

Armor made from the scales of a dragon or tools made from their bones were rarely found in the world due to these objects being given to the chosen of a dragon, but if a dragon were to die without a chosen then the body would be kept by the kingdom to honor the fallen with tasks such as this.

"We will offer various grades of draconic item as rewards for those that aid in the war!"

Amadaya bowed her head before the king and turned to the orc empress.

"Empress Rath'aan you have the floor."

The empress grunted and gave a salute by bringing her fist to her chest.

"My warriors are ready to aid in battle and my witches are creating potions in mass quantities to start supplying the shops. Higher grade potions will be made for direct rewards as well, including potions made by my own witchdoctor."

Once again Amadaya bowed before turning to the next in line which was the elf queen.

"Queen Safista you have the floor."

The wood elf queen turned her nose up and began to speak in a proud manner.

"My people are willing to offer training to the otherworlders to improve their proficiency since they have been learning inferior techniques, they will earn skills and techniques that correlate with their usefulness in the war..."

Although offering to train the otherworlders was a significant step it still had less impact than one would expect due to the common knowledge of their inability to acknowledge the worth of other races.

The next in line was the lizardfolk priestess and although she was of the same race as the dragons this was clearly a different species.

The dragons and the lizardfolk were separated so deeply by not only evolution but by societies that if not for public records it would be assumed they were different races.

Both species evolve from the kobold and although they were capable of mating together it was often seen as taboo in the eyes of both species which meant the birth species of their children were farther in the evolutionary line.

It would be like of the infernal people separated based on species and children began to be born as lesser demons or devils rather than imps.

The Empress stood up and bowed before she began.

"I am prepared to offer healers from my people, they are the greatest amongst the races at curing ailments and restoring wounds. Curses would be nothing to my priests and restoring lost limbs is as easy as snapping a finger."

She sat down after this and it left a bad taste in Lucretia's mouth.

The lizardfolk were isolated from the outside world and if not for their mastery of the life element it would have made people lose interest in them.

The only other aspect of the lizardfolk that caused interest in them was their skill in creating poisons.

Intimate knowledge of the body was required to heal it in the way they could which made others suspect they used prisoners to study their craft, and such knowledge meant poison was easier to produce.

The lizardfolk were so isolated they did not even provide their names, they only gave titles.

The final individual was the leonid king.

He stood up and smiled at those gathered but due to his features it resembled a threatening snarl.

"I will offer the tribes beneath my kingdom as advanced points for the war! My people will be there to fight alongside the otherworlders and act as guardians."

He turned to the kingdom leaders and began another statement.

"I will also provide training for those who do not wish to struggle and gain the favor of the elves. I will prove my kingdom worthy of this war!"

He then turned to Lucretia.

"And I will fight for your respect Lucretia!"

"Queen."

"Hm?"

"I am Queen Lucretia of the infernal race, you will refer to me by my title if you will not respect my chosen mate."

He simply laughed.

"Your chosen mate is an otherworlder, how can he compare with a great warrior such as myself?"

She stared the king down.

"He has gained immunity to the shadow element and has gained the magus class. You will respect my mate."

He hissed when she said this and his eyes grew wide like saucers.

"Immunity? What nonsense. It is impossible for him to be powerful enough to conpete with my raw strength!"

This reaction made her even more enraged but a touch from Amadaya calmed her.

"Soothe thy heart sister, you are stronger and he cannot keep you from your mate."

It was finally her turn however and she stood up.

"I am prepared to offer the aid of my infernals in every way they can be of use, creating spell circles, acting as battalions, hunting threats, guarding regions, we will be everywhere."

What the dragons had in skill the devils had in raw power.

A dragon could live for so long they would become experts in the art of magic but if one wanted to have a mage that could wipe away armies they would seek out a devil.

Dragons had pride that prevented them from causing mass destruction but devils had no such issue.

What truly made dragons and devils different however was the fact that every devil came with the aid of their coven and this made them the ultimate race of war alongside the dragons.
