Chapter 157: Tetanus --2
"Are you not afraid?" Xavier asked while watching Damien move onto another patient.
"Why should I be afraid?" Damien replied without looking up. "I am only doing my job." He straigtened up and threw the remaining half of the needle in the trash. "Did I target anyone? Of course not, so why should I be worried."
He smiled at Xavier before saying to him, "Lets go, we have to treat other patients as well."
At the borders, the ruins of the village were alight with burning flames, Julian recalled the energy that he had released before slumping down on the floor.
"My lord, are you alright?" A beastman walked over to where Julian was resting. He glanced at the corpses of the Mega porcupine beasts and said, "These many beasts usually do not attack a village unless they are driven by something or someone."
"I know," Julian got to his feet. His eyes glinted darkly when he thought about how the situation of the nation was turning worse from bad. If this went on, it won't take long for the chaos to usurp the four general family.
If that happens then Julian knew that Emiliano would definitely make some not so befitting changes.
"Thank you so much!"
"Three cheers for Lord Julian!"
The sound of villagers cheering echoed in the silent night and Julian smiled when he heard their cheers. Though the dangers of taking over his father's positin were not less, he truly enjoyed the feeling of being praised by the ones whom he saved.
"What about the rest?," he said to the commander. "Did the rest of the Mega porcupine beasts get captured?"
"The team had already dealt with them,"replied the commander. "They have also sent the coprses of the Mega Porcupine beast to the mages. If there was a reason behind this attack, I am sure that it would be relayed very soon."
There was a sudden rise in the attacks of the beasts, usually there were only six to seven beast attacks every year but this year, the attacks have risen to twenty per month.
Even a child could see that there was something weird going on.
"Good," Julian nodded as he turned around. But the second he moved his body, he let out a wince. His gaze fell on the deep cut on his palm that was still bleeding.
"Are you alright, my lord?" the man following Julian asked.
"I am alright," Julian shook his head. He didn't expect that these beasts would be smart enough to turn around and attack him again. One of them even went for a sneak attack : [Explode] when he was not paying attention.
'I should have been more careful,' Julian thought as he clenched his fists. He sighed heavily before bringing his hand down. It was alright, this wound wouldn't possibly bring him down. It was such a light wound, a healer's spell would be enough to treat it.
"Lets return!" Julian shouted as he ordered his team to follow him.
He grimaced once again as he shifted into his beast form, his injury flaring up when his wings moved.
"Next!"
Damien shouted as he finished suturing the last patient.
"There are no more critically injured patients, my lord," Xavier told Damien who sighed and sat down on a chair that was placed on the side.
[Congratulations, you have saved 50 critically injured patients.]

[New Medical Pieces of Equipment unlocked in the purchasing section.]
[Important Points to be noted: A tetanus shot needs to be administered.]
'Tetanus?' Damien frowned before asking Dan, "Does this porcupine needles causes tetanus?"
"It does shares the same properties as rusted iron needles," replied Dan. "It will be better if they are given a shot that could prevent their condition from getting any worse."
Damien nodded.
Behind him, Gavin sat down on the floor. He used a clean handkerchief to wipe his sweat and remarked, "I can't feel my feet at all."
"Same here," Robert released a sigh as he rubbed and nursed his feet. "I feel like I have walked more than ten days in just five hours."
"Is this enough?" Luke poured the numbing medicine in a small cup and showed it to Damien.
"Its enough," Damien replied with a nod. He got to his feet after responding and looked outside the tent where the beastmen with light injuries were waiting for their turn. He turned to look at the three healers and said to them, "Why are you sitting down? We still need to deal with the injuries of these beastmen."
Gavin and the rest: !!!
Demonic bastard!
"Ah!" Julian yelped in pain once the beastman finished tying his wound after washing it with the holy water.
"Are you sure that you don't want the doctor or the healers to take a look at this injury? Even though its not deep, you should be careful," said the beastman.
"This is nothing," Julian didn't want to take up the time of Damien when he was saving the soldiers who were injured more gravely than him. Compared to him, they were in much more need of medical attention.
Seeing that he was refusing to agree, the beastman didn't force him. Instead he warned, "You should think it through, general. This injury might be light but —"
"COMMANDER!"
Julian glared at the man stopping him from saying the words that he wanted to say. He knew what the man wanted to tell him but he didn't wish to hear it.
This was just a small wound, how could it be as terrible as the situation of his big brother? This subordinate of his was only acting out of line by comparing his wound to his big brother's.
He was perfectly alright.
There was no way he would be affected by Ferrus Poison.
There was no way!
