“This is… There’s definitely something there. Barrier… No, Yuki is right, it’s space magic… Layla, what do you think?” (Lefi)

“… I can sense two overlapping spatial axes. There are two sides, the actual entrance and the backdoor. If you don’t enter in a certain way, you will be misled and be thrown out.” (Layla)

“I see, it was the same as what I had thought when I first tried to enter.” (Yuki)

After returning to the others and informing them about the situation, I brought Lefi and Layla with me to the area which I couldn’t register on my [Map].

We were now at what, I thought, was the border of the special area.

Lefi and Layla were looking around, both with troubled expressions on their faces, investigating the differences in space.

“You are saying that the two of them are in here?” (Lefi)

“Yeah. I can’t capture a [map] for this area, but it is still showing allies within the area and there should be no allies other than the two of them in the vicinity. I also can’t imagine they’ve gone that far, so that means Shii and Sakuya should be in here.” (Yuki)

…I have to admit, I was a little impatient.

“–Shii, can you hear me?” (Yuki)

[Master! What’s wrong?] (Shii)

Her voice was as energetic as ever.

After that conversation, I ended my “Far Talk” with Shii.

“What’s Shii doing?” (Lefi)

“She’s taking a walk in the garden. Apparently, there is a garden behind this space.” (Yuki)

“Hmmm…? Well, I hope she’s okay, but why would something like this be in the middle of the capital city? This is a very sophisticated magic. I was unable to sense it at all.” (Lefi)

“Well… If you can’t sense her, the captain probably won’t even have any idea where to find them.” (Shii)

Was this place just happened to be here coincidentally?

Or was the city intentionally built around this location?

Saying that, Layla activated some kind of magic, and the next moment the air around the area changed completely.

The hustle and bustle of the city faded away.

Tranquility.

It felt as if time had stopped.

The scenery remained the same, but it was as if we’d arrived in an entirely different place.

“Whoa… What did you do, Layla?” (Yuki)

“I knew that there was a backdoor to enter this space, so I then analyzed the coordinates of the actual entrance and then connected it to the backdoor…” (Layla)

I didn’t know what she was talking about, but at least I knew Layla was wonderful.

“…Lefi, can you do something like this?” (Yuki)

“No, I can’t. This kind of detailed magic is my biggest weakness. If I try to force my hand, the magic will explode and the surrounding area will be devastated. Layla is great.” (Lefi)

“My Master is good at this kind of analysis, and she taught me well. It’s just… that I don’t think I can get to the two of them with just this…” (Layla)

Yes, the surrounding atmosphere changed after entering the new area, but the surrounding landscape remained the same.

There was no doubt that this was the area the backdoor led to, but the buildings still stood side by side, and I could not find anything that looked like the garden Shii had mentioned.
